Thermal Project Support

The modeling of unconventional gas and oil projects necessitates the ability to handle large numbers of wells, a strict management of production and injection profiles, flexible performance curves and drilling schedules with great optimization capabilities. To address these needs PetroVR includes a series of special features that generally would only be used in the context of thermal development projects.

These features will only be enabled for thermal gas and oil projects. To start a thermal project, select New Thermal Project from the File Menu.

PetroVR thermal project features:

• Learning Curves Tab on power requirement for heating wells, rigs, refineries and containment.
• Production Pattern Node of injection and production wells whose behavior is inter-related.
• A Well Scheduler which controls the drilling pace to maintain a production plateau.
• Steam Plant, Steam Injection Facility, Refinery and Power Plant.
• Cyclic Job which help keep inventory of resources.
• A Containment System (freezing wells) for oil shale heating projects.
